Three undergraduate students from the Complexity Science (CS) Group of the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory (IPL) will defend their undergraduate theses this semester.

Abigail Mae C. Jayin will present her work on Growth-Decay Mechanistic Model of Popularity in Philippine News. Dr. Johnrob Bantang and Dr. Rene Batac are her co-advisers, and her thesis examination panel members are Gerold Pedemonte (IPL) and Rafael Jaculbia (CMPL).
Anjali B. Tarun will discuss the result of experiments and models in her thesis Collapse Dynamics of Mono- and Bi-Disperse Granular Step, done under the supervision of Dr. Johnrob Bantang and Dr. Rene Batac. Dr. Jose Magpantay (Theory) and Maria Herminia Balgos (CMPL) will serve as thesis examiners.
Katherine Anne R. Bulan will discuss her work with Dr. Johnrob Bantang on the Dynamics of the Spread of Information in a System of Agents on a Square Lattice. Dr. Ronald Banzon (SanD) and Ms. Balgos will form the examination panel.
These students joined the IPL in 2011 under the CS Group. This semester, they will join the seven other students from the groups of the IPL who will defend their theses.
