Paguirigan passes PhD comprehensive exams with flying colors

Antonino Paguirigan Jr., one of the PhD Physics students of the Complex Systems Group, recently passed the Comprehensive Examination for PhD students of the National Institute of Physics (NIP).

The Comprehensive Exam, covering four core courses (classical mechanics, electromagnetic theory, statistical physics, and quantum mechanics), are given to MS Physics students who choose the non-thesis option, or to students who take the PhD Physics program straight from undergraduate physics degrees. Paguirigan, who is in his third year in the PhD program straight from BS Applied Physics, received “high” passing marks for all the core courses, even perfecting the classical and quantum mechanics examinations.

From the Complex Systems Group, Congratulations, Jr!
