Several graduate and undergraduate student members of the IPL Complex Systems Group gave talks and joined the poster sessions, while senior members held key positions in the organizing committee during the 30th Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas (SPP) Physics Congress.

Dr. Johnrob Bantang, serving his last term as Secretary-General of the SPP, ensured a smooth flow of the activities during the three-day program held 22-24 October 2012 at the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute (DLSHSI), with the theme Exploring Physics Research in the Health Sciences. Affiliate PhDs from the Group Dr. Christopher Monterola, Dr. Erika Fille Legara, and Dr. Rene Batac, also in their last terms as SPP Officers, joined the early preparations for the Congress, particularly in the paper submission and review system. Meanwhile, Dr. Ranzivelle Marianne Roxas-Villanueva, another former member of the Group, will serve as Treasurer for a full two-year term starting next year.
The student members of the group gave talks during Complex Systems parallel sessions and poster sessions. Those who submitted their works are James Christopher Pang, Jen-Jen Manuel, Kat Bulan, Abby Jayin, and Anjali Tarun. Dr. Rene Batac and Dr. Felix Valenzuela also attended the sessions.
